Since the dismantling of Apartheid over a decade ago, South Africa has undergone a transformation that has captured people’s hearts and minds. This epic journey reflects the country’s own trek towards enlightenment, while delving back into the origins of Africa’s first peoples. Witness Apartheid’s legacy as documented along Cape Town’s ‘Walk to Freedom’, followed by a cruise to the infamous prison which held Nelson Mandela for many years. Sample modern township life, before ascending the Drakensberg mountains to discover, among the high cliffs and dramatic waterfalls, mysterious 2,000 year old cave paintings of the now-vanished Bushmen. At a Zulu village, meet tribesmen before continuing to the Kingdom of Swaziland, where local craftsmen share their secrets. The grand finale is a safari at a private game reserve in the bush of Kruger National Park.
