Day 1, Johannesburg, South Africa
Touch down in the 'City of Gold' with time to relax and acclimate before tomorrow's venture into Zambia. Fondly referred to as “Joburg” the city is dynamic and cosmopolitan.
THE WESTCLIFF HOTEL
Day 2, Livingstone, Zambia
Your adventure begins as you continue to Zambia. Later in the afternoon you will travel along the mighty Zambezi River in comfort and style on a "sundowner" boat cruise. Livingstone first wrote about this "Crimson Heart of Africa bleeding over the Kandahar Rapids" and sunset on the Zambezi has captivated travelers since. Enjoy snacks and drinks before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3, Livingstone / Victoria Falls
Today's excursion is one of the most ecologically friendly methods of game viewing, an elephant back safari! Learn from their expert handlers about these gentle giants, how they came to be rescued, about their personalities and fascinating matriarchal group pecking order. Then you are formally introduced to the Elephants and venture through the riverine bush along banks of the Zambezi River. Experience the quiet sensation of floating through the wilderness from this high vantage point.
This afternoon enjoy a guided excursion to Victoria Falls. You are led through the natural rain forest to selected vantage points from which you will see the main cataracts that comprise the Falls. Victoria Falls is the largest curtain of falling water and one of the seven natural wonders of the world. A visit to the local village and market gives insight into the history and culture of the Zambian people. Local artisans perform traditional skills such as wood carving, basket weaving and even cooking. You will then have the opportunity to shop in the curio shops for souvenirs and gifts.

Day 4, Livingstone / Chobe National Park, Botswana / Livingstone
A full day outing to Chobe National Park in Botswana will be one to be remembered. Famous for the large number of elephant that live there, Chobe has many attractions and is a haven for huge herds of buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and impala which are followed closely by the predators - lion, hyena, the elusive leopard and the odd pack of the rare wild dog. The colorful bird life is also exceptional.
From your morning safari boat cruise on the Chobe River expect to see large flocks of birds, big pods of hippos bobbing in and out of the river and very large crocodiles sunning themselves at the waters edge. After lunch overlooking the Chobe River, depart in open safari vehicles for an afternoon game drive into the park. Return to Zambia and your hotel for the evening.

Day 5, Cape Town, South Africa
Your next destination is the coastal city of Cape Town, often referred to as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The city's Edwardian and Victorian buildings have been meticulously preserved, and many outstanding examples of Cape Dutch architecture are found in its environs. Cobblestone streets, mosques and the colorful flat-roofed pastel homes of the Malay Quarter enhance a cosmopolitan ambiance, and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront evokes images of the seafaring activities of the 19th century.

Day 6, Cape Town - Cape Point
Today your privately guided explorations take in some of the most spectacular views in the world, passing steep mountains, secluded coves and sweeping beaches, as well as villages and fishing communities.
Visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, comprising over 17,300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora. You can see a variety of wildlife that includes baboons, rhebok, Cape Mountain zebra, bontebok and the elusive eland. The reserve is also one of the world's largest breeding grounds for tortoises. Bird-watchers will find many fine species to observe.
The Two Oceans Aquarium is a fun way to conclude today's 'marine experience'. The southern tip of the African continent is the meeting place of two mighty and bountiful oceans, the Indian and the Atlantic. Cape Town is ideally positioned to showcase the incredible diversity of marine life found in these two oceans. This 3 million litre aquarium is the only one of its kind in Africa offers over 4000 creatures including sharks, fishes, seals, turtles and penguins that can be seen in this spectacular underwater nature reserve.

Day 7, Cape Town - Winelands
Your private family friendly wine country visit takes you to the Spier Estate in Stellenbosch, home to both the Cheetah Outreach Program and Eagle Encounters Raptor Rehabilitation Centre. Learn more about these incredible animals both from a distance and up close and personal.
Enjoy a magical dining experience at Moyo, one of Africa's top restaurants. Moyo creates individual African gastronomic experiences, experimenting with the tastes and flavors of Africa. The result is a buffet which spans over 80 feet. Live performers will entertain you to indigenous theatre, dance, opera and traditional storytelling from noon until late. Young visitors (under 12) are also welcome as we offer exciting programs on ecology, drumming workshops, African storytelling and so much more!

Days 8-10, Kapama Private Game Reserve - Hoedspruit
Continue to the safari highlight of your family holiday. Enjoy a 3 night stay in the Kapama Private Game Reserve which covers 42-square miles of prime big game country.
Activities include morning and evening game drives in open 4X4 safari vehicles conducted by experienced game rangers and guided bushwalks. A wide variety of game such as rhino, hippo, buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, antelope, zebra and giraffe and an abundance of bird life can be seen.
Special touches for younger travelers include a backpack filled with goodies, along with the opportunity to fish, explore the bush in search of medicinal plants and learn tracking techniques from an expert guide. A visit to the Kapama kitchen to make pizza is another fun activity.
During your stay, a stop will be made at The Hoedspruit Research and Breeding Centre for Endangered Species. The Centre was initially established as a breeding program for cheetah, but now also has found success with breeding and releasing the lightening fast wild dog, rescuing orphaned elephants and even has a special "restaurant" for vultures, Marabou stork and Bateleur eagles. Table manners are definitely optional. The visit is a great opportunity to learn about wildlife conservation efforts in South Africa.
