Itinerary

Day 1, Lusaka / Central Northern Kafue National Park, Zambia
Upon arrival at Lusaka airport you are met and flown to Kafue National Park. Your guide will meet you and transfer you to your camp for the evening. Along the route, you may have the opportunity to see many game varieties.

Day 2, Central Northern Kafue National Park
At the confluence of the Lufupa and Kafue rivers, you will get stunning views of the Kafwala Rapids. A combination of dambo areas, riverine, floodplain grassland and woodland areas make this a diverse game location with a range of habitats.

Day 3, Central Northern Kafue National Park
There are resident prides of lion and leopard is frequently seen. Wild dogs are occasionally sighted. Hippos are always out in front of the camp frolicking in the cool waters of the Kafue River. There is also a wide variety of plains game ranging from zebra, buffalo, roan, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, sable, kudu and impala to the diminutive oribi. Elephants are also often seen roaming the area as well.

Day 4, Busanga Floodplain, North-Western Kafue
This morning enjoy an early morning game drive that will take you to your next destination. Deep inside the wildlife haven of the Busanga Plains of Kafue National Park, you will find your camp, located in a slightly wooded belt just South of the Busanga Plains.

Day 5, Busanga Floodplain, North-Western Kafue
Today you will get to a chance to see the red lechwe and puku, while buffalo, bushbuck, reedbuck, hippo, crocodile, lion, cheetah, spotted hyaena and so much more. Leopard can also be spotted along the wooded tree lines fringing the plains, as well as elephant.

Day 6, Busanga Plains, Northern Kafue
After an early breakfast, we depart for an early morning game drive that will take you to the heart of the Busanga Plains. The Plains are home to hundreds of red lechwe, ubiquitous puku, stately roan and the diminutive oribi. Lichtenstein's hartebeest, herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo and a full set of antelope provide a tremendous diversity. This wealth of game on the plains is also a big attraction for predators, including wild dog, cheetah and prides of lion. Enjoy a Complimentary Balloon Excursion in the Busanga Plains during the months of August - October, 2011.

Day 7, Busanga Plains, Northern Kafue
For those interested in birding, the park boasts almost five hundred species and is sure to impress and provide a spectacle guaranteed to ensure fond memories. This itinerary specifically goes to two locations within or near the Busanga Plains, allowing for in-depth exploration of this phenomenal ecosystem. Activities include game drives and night drives, led by qualified guides who are extremely knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife.

Day 8, Depart Kafue National Park
After an early breakfast, depart by helicopter from Busanga Bush Camp to Busanga airstrip, from there light aircraft transfer to Lusaka Airport, where the safari ends.
