Safaris and Travel

A GUIDE TO USING OUR WEBSITE!

Our website is meant to be a collection of tools that you can use to create your African adventure. This should provide the Who, What, Where, and the When of your personal safari.

We describe who we are, what the value of this journey can be, our tangible connections to Africa and our personal commitments to its conservation and people. These elements validate your decision to travel with African Travel. We provide insight on what to expect when you finally step onto African soil, when the best time would be to make your journey and show you where you will rest your head at night. All these factors are important in selecting the country(ies) that deliver the best experience suited to your expectations.

For more than 35 years African Travel has monitored the response of our guests identifying the “wow” factor in every experience. This insight acts as the foundation in each of the Popular Journeys we have included in the website. In a sidebar to each departure we delineate four essential highlights with the headings, Experience, Discover, Explore, and Enjoy, to summarize the intended take away of each. These programs are expertly planned, a tried and true low paced, low density, singular experience. Even so, they are designed with inherent flexibility, giving you the opportunity to personalize your safari. Use them to refine your wish list and personalize a safari experience that is uniquely your own.

When you encounter a detour in the road, is this something faced with trepidation or rather embraced as a chance to venture far from the maddening crowds? This is the direction we will send you with our special interest itineraries, Off The Beaten Path programs. While some may be a little rigorous calling on a degree of stamina, the added challenge will deliver immeasurable rewards. Take the dare, review these pages. They are used to measure the degree to which you are willing to participate in your African adventure. Who knows, you may find yourself staring into the face of a chimpanzee in Mahale Mountain National Park, reaching the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (the highest of all!), or sunning yourself on a remote beach in Mozambique.

Following both the Southern Africa and the East Africa Popular Journeys and Off The Beaten Path programs we have included a section called Added Adventures. It is a compilation of alternative highlights that might not have been considered up to this point in your planning. By adding a few days to your itinerary, these suggestions will expand your experience and enjoyment.
