Two nights in cosmopolitan Cairo, the melting pot of ancient and modern Egyptian civilizations. A full day of private sightseeing in and around Cairo with your own Egyptologist, to include the pyramids and solar boat at Giza, the Mohammed Ali Mosque and the Khan el Khalili market.

Day 4 - 10, Nile CruiseFly to Luxor and embark upon a 7 day leisurely exploration of the archeological treasures that were constructed along the river's edge from the comfort and convenience of your floating hotel. As you journey from Luxor to Aswan and back, the venues include the edifice at Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Kom Ombo, Edfu and the Philae Temple. Additional excursions include a visit to the High Dam in Aswan, one of the old quarries from which the massive building blocks were excavated, a "Sound & Light" performance and a ride in a felucca, a traditional river boat. Evenings on board the boat are filled with activities and local entertainment.

Day 11, Cairo
Fly back to Cairo and spend the afternoon in the Cairo Museum, home to a treasure trove
of artifacts which have been removed from a number of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings including the god-like golden mask of Tutankhamun. A visit to the Mummies Room offers some insight into the ancient beliefs and funerary practices. Depart on your homebound flight late this evening.
