As seen in 1976 when he founded the company and built it into one of North America's leading safari operators. Dave is spending his time in the USA again, after several years dividing his time between the USA and his home on the edge of Kruger National Park in South Africa. Dave loves to catch up with clients while they are on safari in South Africa, and often shares a round of golf or a meal with them. Don't be surprised if you get a phone call while in Africa from Dave!

Manners: In South Africa, use either both hands or the right hand when giving and presenting gifts.

Language: Say hello and thank you. In South Africa: Molo and Enkosi in Xhosa; In East Africa: Jambo & Asante in Swahili.
Clothing: Laundry service is provided at most hotels and safari lodges. Days are warm and nights are cool so dress accordingly. If you wish to sport some special "safari" clothes, wear light earth tones or pastels. Avoid white, black and bright colors.

Our safari with African Travel was magnificently orchestrated with special touches like a spa treatment, a round of golf, services of a nanny and an elephant drinking out of our pool... pure magic!

African Travel is offering a step back in time... with a special safari priced as it was in 1976: One night at Thornybush Reserve at Jackalberry Safari Lodge including all meals and wildlife viewing activities. Enjoy the range of Africa's old meets new.... Step back into the era of the Vintage Tales of South Africa climbing aboard Rovos Rail - a steam journey appealing to seekers of romance and staying at historic properties such as Ellerman House, Sabi Sabi Selati and Saxon - the elegant mansion where Nelson Mandela finished his memoirs! Finish off in Livingstone, Zambia at Sussi Lodge named for David Livingstone's companion - Sussi, where you can fill up your senses with a night in the forest canopy: luxuriate in your beautiful treehouse overlooking the broad Zambezi River, just upstream of the Falls themselves. Or opt for Kenya's Masai Mara, arriving at your deliciously opulent Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp where white tents are furnished with four poster beds, ostrich feather filled quilts and antiques. Guests are served with silver and crystal next to a crackling campfire. This is available on our Kenya Bush Home and Intimate Enchantments of Kenya.
