| EACH ACTION HAS ITS CONSEQUENCE | ||||
| By developing and promoting tourism to Africa, African Travel has been able to positively impact environmental
awareness, wildlife conservation and cultural preservation. Throughout our brochure and website, we have suggested that ours is a
profoundly emotional bond with the African continent and its people. These are not empty words. Practicing responsible tourism
and partnering with those who share our concerns helps us to protect that which we cherish. The Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa is such a partner and a fine example of commitment to conservation, redistribution of resources and local investment. Enforcing recycling programs and energy saving procedures demonstrates their environmental sensitivity. Donations of food and clothing to children with AIDS and the poor show their compassion for the less fortunate. African Travel applauds their efforts and features their hotel in a multiple of our tour programs. |

Our support of the African way of life goes beyond introducing thousands of visitors to the continent. We have
made a monetary commitment to two charitable associations that are dear to our heart. A portion of our profits from every safari we sell is donated to the Cheetah Outreach Foundation, South Africa and the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, Kenya. These charities champion causes that are not only noble but necessary. Can you imagine a world without cheetahs, elephants, giraffes or lions? What a loss it would be if the richness of the Maasai culture was delegated to something that our children read about in their history books rather than experienced first hand? How is it possible that when shown pictures of indigenous wildlife that local African children are unable to identify them? Through education and giving local people the opportunity for personal investment we can effect change. We invite you to lend us your support. Your life-changing African experience will certainly give new meaning to The Cheetah Outreach's call to action, |
